A shooting incident that took place on Sunday June 21st, has left former Gender Minister, Sarah Adwoa Safo, hospitalized and is currently receiving medical attention

According to reports, the unfortunate incident took place at the home of the former MPs younger brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo.

The former lawmaker was present at the aforementioned location when gunshots rang out amidst the escalating conflict that has enveloped the family following the passing of the leader of the Kristo Asafo movement, Apostle Emeritus Kwadwo Safo, according to reliable sources.

The conflict is as a result of misunderstanding among family members regarding the identity of a legitimate successor to the position of leader and mountebank.

Eyewitnesses’ accounts indicate that some well-built men with firearms discharged their weapons during the gathering purportedly arranged to endorse the installation of Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena.

Some reports have noted that about 15 rounds of ammunition were discharged during the event.

One of the bullets narrowly scratched the neck of Adwoa Safo and she was rushed to the hospital. It is reported that she is currently in good condition as medical officers are currently working around the clock to ensure she recovers quickly.

The situation has sparked legal disputes, as certain family members are opposing efforts to promote Nana Kwadwo Safo Akofena to the organization’s leadership.

As of the time of filing this report, the police administration has not come out with an official statement on the incident.
