The Chief Executive Officer of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Professor Otchere Addai-Mensah, has been directed to vacate his position pending a new CEO to take over in the coming weeks.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Professor Otchere Addai-Mensah, has been directed to vacate his position pending a new CEO to take over in the coming weeks.

Following a meeting with the Health Minister, Kwabena Minta Akandoh on May 2,2025, Professor Addai-Mensah was asked to wrap up his activities to make way for the New CEO whose identity is yet to be known.

Kwaben Minta Akandoh lauded the outgoing CEO for his tremendous contributions to the hospital.

Professor Addai-Mensah was appointed in 2022. He has brought great improvement in the hospital’s infrastructure.

Under his leadership, the Heal Komfo Anokye Project (HeKAP) was initiated, supported by Otumfuor Osei Tutu II, the Overlord of the Asante Kingdom.

Additionally, during his tenure, the hospital added 18 more dialysis machines to its two existing ones, expanding access to renal care.

Professor Addai-Mensah congratulated his successor and entreated staff of the hospital to give their maximum support to the new CEO in order to ensure continuity in quality health care delivery to patients.

Despite having two more years on his contract, Professor Addai-Mensah, has been relieved of his duties. The new CEO will be announced in the coming days.
