
Pictures and videos circulating online confirm that Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has successfully recovered and has safely arrived in Ghana to continue her work as the Vice President.
She was flown out of the country to London, United Kingdom to receive extensive medical care upon the advice of medical officers at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
On 24th April, 2025, the president provided an update on the current health condition of the vice president during the launch of the nationwide sanitary pads distribution program.
He indicated that vice president was responding well to treatment and she is in good spirit.
Vice-President Opoku-Agyemang was reported to have suddenly fallen ill on March 28, 2025. She sought medical attention at the UGMC where she was advised to seek further treatment in the United Kingdom.
Upon her safe return to Ghana, the vice president was welcomed at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) by President John Dramani Mahama, First Lady Mrs Lordina Dramani Mahama, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah and other senior government officials.
In her remarks, she thanked president Mahama and his brother Ibrahim Mahama for their support and care, expressed her heartfelt appreciation to Ghanians for their prayers and health professionals at the University of Ghana Medical Centre for their thoughtfulness.
