Minority leader and member of parliament for the Efutu constituency has been seen in a video assaulting a police officer in what can be a described as a confrontation between the police and the protestors. The opposition New Patriotic Party hit the street of Accra on Monday May 5,2025 to register their displeasure against the suspension of the Chief of Justice Getrude Torkonoo by the Mahama led administration. Protestors in their anger, criticized President John Dramamni Mahama for attacking Judiciary by making a case against the Chief Justice. The leading member of the NPP in the heat of the demonstration was seen physically and verbally assaulting a police officer. The law maker was the seen hitting the law enforcement officer on the head. The cause of the MP's rage towards the police officer remains unclear. Richard Ahigbah, the New Patriotic Party's Director of Communications, had to intervene and quell escalating tensions.
