A resident of Gyahadze, a suburb of Winneba has given chilling details with regards to the murder of the senior lecturer at the University of Education, Winneba, Mawuadem Koku Amedeker.

John Quaye in an interview on Accra-based Adom FM May 23, disclosed that some community memebers speculated that the lecturer had been kidnapped after his brief disappearance.

Professor Amedeker according to Quaye has been receiving threatening messages from unknown persons.

Quaye stated that the lecturer is a highly thoughtful individual who puts his own safety first making the circumstances surrounding his untimely death shocking.

He said that the suspected killer has been identified as an actor known as Fii.

“There were news that he has been kidnapped which isn’t surprising looking at how the Professor has been receiving threatening messages. It was revealed an actor attempted to harm him”, he noted in the interview.

“The Professor is a very conscious person and it baffles everyone how the suspect managed to enter his room. Based on the evidence gathered so far, it is believed the suspect made use of a hard object to hit the lecturer rendering him unconscious before taking his life”.

He narrated that following the arrest of the key suspect known as, Joshua Karry Arthur, it was later revealed that the suspect slashed the throat and removed the intestines of Professor Amedeker.

He reported that after the apprehension of the primary suspect, identified as Joshua Karry Arthur, it was subsequently revealed that the suspect had slit the throat and excised the intestines of Professor Amedeker.

For reasons best known to the suspect, the excised intestines have been concealed at an unidentified location.

Quaye further indicated that the police are having difficulty in gaining access to the deceased’s room.

The mortal remains of University of Education, Winneba, Professor Mawuadem Koku Amedeker, was recovered on Friday May 17, 2025 following an intelligence receiving by the police.
