
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has issued a firm condemnation of the attack on a teacher at Kade Senior High Technical School (SHTS), as seen in a viral video circulating on social media.
They criticized the act and described it as barbaric and unacceptable.
According to a statement signed by the Head of Public Relations at GES, Daniel Fenyi, the Service has come across a widely circulated video where past students of Kade SHTS were physically assaulting Mr. Michael Quayson, who happens to be a teacher of the school.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the students’ actions stemmed from the teacher’s refusal to permit cheating during their West African Senior School Certificate Examination, specifically while they were taking their Christian Religious Studies (CRS) paper, leading them to express their frustration towards him.
The assault is believed to have taken place on 5th October, 2025 however school authorities or the regulator had no hint of the incident until the video got leaked prompting the GES to take charge of the issue while investigations continue.
GES unequivocally condemned the attack on the teacher, emphasizing that those responsible will face appropriate sanctions in accordance with the law and GES regulations, ensuring that justice is served effectively.
Management of the Service has reiterated its commitment to all teachers nationwide of imbibing discipline amongst students while fostering good morals and ensuring examination integrity.
