
The University of Cape Coast, one of Ghana’s most leading universities, has suffered another tragedy with the death of two members in a horrific accident on the Cape Coast-Accra Highway, allegedly due to the negligent driving of a Tipper Truck driver.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 28, when a Tipper Truck attempted to avoid a vehicle that was overtaking it, inadvertently swerving into the lane of the sedan driven by Dr. Agyemang.
Dr. Kwabena Koforobour Agyemang was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geography and Regional Planning at the university. His Teaching Assistant, Mr. Peter Amoadu-Asmah was a National Service Personnel and a fresh graduate from the university.
The University of Cape Coast through a statement, confirmed the passing two of its staff.
The Statement further noted that the two met their untimely death at Third Ridge on the Cape Coast-Accra Highway.
Management described Dr. Agyemang as a highly respected tutor dedicated to his profession indicating that his sudden demise came as a big surprise and has profoundly impacted the university community.
“His invaluable contributions and presence will be deeply missed by colleagues, students, and all who had the privilege of knowing and working with him,” part of the statement read.
