Former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau, Kwabena Adu-Boahen, has given a breakdown of what the alleged stolen Ghs 49 million was used for.
He indicated in a letter to the National Security Coordinator that the monies were utilized to support various activities, including the disbursement of allowances, security operations, and the allocation of over 8 million cedis for the NDC’s political campaign in preparation for the 2020 and 2024 elections.
He emphasized in the letter that there was no wrongdoing on his part as the Director-General of the National Signals Bureau since the alleged stolen funds were not used by him for his personal gain.
The National Security created two accounts where they kept the funds. One account was for the Bureau of National Communications. That particular account was for special operations while the second account which bears his name and that of his wife was meant for sensitive expenditures.
Adu-Boahen is of the greatest conviction it has become necessary to tell his side of the story to protect his reputation.
